New Paris Chamber of Commerce

The New Paris Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB is proud to bring New Paris our
Hometown Hero Banner Program to recognize those in our community who have served, or is
serving, in the United States Armed Forces. It is our way to show tribute to the heroes within our
community.

*Hometown Heroes Banner Applications Due by March 28, 2025*

Banners purchased will be displayed on the light poles along North & South
Washington St, Cherry St, Spring St, and Walnut St. Washington St will be done before we move to the other streets. The banners will be installed annually in May, prior to Memorial Day weekend, and will remain displayed until after Veterans Day

Banners will be a double-sided and will measure 24″ x 48”. Each banner
will feature the Veterans rank, name, service branch, and a photograph of
the Veteran (in uniform if available). No additional information will be honored and requests for banner locations will not be accepted.

Each banner will cost $240.00. Money raised beyond the cost of the banner will be used as
a fundraiser for the New Paris Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB Scholarship Fund.

Banners will be displayed for two years or until the banner shows deterioration.
After two years the applicant will be contacted to arrange pick up of the banner. After 90 days any unclaimed banner will be disposed of. After two years if a new banner is requested, a new application and fee will be required. The Village of New Paris and the New Paris Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged banners.

The Veteran to be honored and recognized on the banner must:

– Reside or have resided in the Village of New Paris or Jefferson Township.

– Attended or graduated from National Trail High School, Jefferson High School, or Jackson High School.

– Be an immediate family member (e.g. spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, or child-in-law) of a current Village of New Paris or Jefferson Township resident.

– The Veteran must have served in any of the six branches of military service (ie Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Space Force), including Reserves and National Guard, and must have been honorably discharged. A valid DD214 form or equivalent is required at the time of application.

The New Paris Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to screen applications for eligibility and compliance with the Veterans Banner program.

Applications will be accepted now until March 28th.

We hope to be offering this program every year beginning in February.
